We've come in at 8th place in this impressive list of VoIP platforms.
Not too bad considering 1st,2nd,4th and 7th are all derivitaives of Asterisk in one way or another.

If you distilled the list down to have only one "Asterisk" mentioned then it looks like it is only a few dozen alternatives. Still, having so many Asterisk-based solutions out there is proof that OSS telephony is very valuable and that Asterisk, in spite of its shortcomings, is the king of OSST. I guess that makes FreeSWITCH the upstart heir apparent? :)
In any case, seeing FS so high on that list is very gratifying. I've been watching FS for almost 2.5 years and I am amazed at how far it has come since the little guy hammering on the stone wheel. (Inside reference for those of you who've been here for a while.)
